The Northamptonshire Archives and Heritage Service, will close to public onsite access at 5pm on Wednesday 18 March 2020, until further notice, due to the Coronavirus. The service will, however, continue to respond to customer enquiries. The best way to contact the Record Office is by email or letter, as this enables staff to give a fuller reply, but telephone enquiries can also be made Tuesday to Thursday between 9-1.

Document production times
We retrieve documents nine times a day Tuesday to Thursday, at the following times: 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:15 pm, 2:15 pm, 3:15 pm and 4 pm. We aim to produce the documents within 30 minutes of each of these times. Our normal limit is two documents per person, per collection.
When we are open on the first Saturday of the month between 9 am and 1 pm, we retrieve documents six times at: 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am and 12:00 noon. We aim to produce the documents within 30 minutes of each of these times. Our normal limit is two documents per person, per collection.
You can, in addition to requesting documents at these times, pre-order up to eight documents, giving us at least five working days notice.
There is free parking on site, including disabled spaces. However, there is no guarantee spaces will be available throughout busy periods.
