NORTHAMPTONSHIRE ARCHIVES

Sources held at Northamptonshire Archives and useful to family history researchers include: Wills, probate, bishop’s transcripts, estate collections from many of the county’s stately homes, deeds, maps, school records, poor law union records along with many documents relating to parish administration. All of which will help you fill in more of your ancestors lives.

Parish registers for Northamptonshire have been digitised and can be searched online at  Ancestry. An index to Wills and Probate  can be found on FindMyPast along with parish register transcriptions and other indexes

Numbers allowed to visit are still limited. You must pre-book your visit. You can pre-order 8 documents in advance and a further 6 during the day of your visit.
