This ongoing project is co-ordinated by the Federation of Family History Societies (FFHS) and aims, with the help of the county societies, to transcribe all the burial registers for the period 1813-1837.

In Northamptonshire we have so far submitted over 195,000 entries from around 220 parishes covering the above dates and beyond.

The National Burial Index is produced on CD by the FFHS or the index can be searched on-line at www.findmypast.com (small fee payable). The website lists the parishes covered county by county.

Additionally, an index of the entries have been added to our Personal Names Database.
