BRIEFLY, OUR HOLDINGS INCLUDE:-

  • Journals exchanged with other societies – around 30 in the UK and 12 overseas. Parish Registers and other Transcripts/Indexes (see separate catalogue for these) Members Interests from Other Societies. Census and Memorial Inscriptions booklets and fiche (including the county census for 1841-1901) Northamptonshire publications. Family History Research Guides
  • Miscellaneous publications

Most items (except fiche and some reference books) can be borrowed from the Library.

AVAILABILITY TO MEMBERS AND SYSTEM OF USE

With the exception of Parish register transcripts and copies, all items are held in the Society’s room at Wellingborough Museum.  This is situated at Dulley's Baths, opposite the Castle Theatre.  There is ample parking nearby.

  • Items can be requested and brought to Society meetings.You may visit the Library at Wellingborough Museum which is open at the following times:
    - every Wednesday between 11am – 3pm
    - 2nd Saturday of the month - 10.30am - 4pm
  • Items may be requested by post and the borrower is asked to pay postage both ways. 

(Some books are quite heavy and the postage may be expensive. It is suggested that a check be made at the local public library as some reference books may be available through the inter library loan service.)

  • Items borrowed to be returned within one month.
  • All items borrowed remain the property of NFHS and any losses/damage will need to be paid for.

CODE NUMBER Each item has been given a code number.   Please quote this when requesting loans.

MEMBERSHIP NUMBER Please quote your membership number when requesting loans.

POSTAGE COSTS These are detailed in the Library catalogue.
